Meet the Counselor: Jessica Kent

It was a fateful moment when I was throwing around the idea of a Babes in Pinland brunch on Zoom (scheduled for 1PM PST on Sunday, with link to follow) with counselor Ashley Weaver, and she brought my attention to a recent post in Belles & Chimes Worldwide from Jessica - talking about her ‘Enter Your Ingredients’ cooking show on Twitch. Even though our campsites are in the Northwest and Midwest respectively, I knew from our earliest exchange that they might as well have been right next door.

Come one, come all, to join Jessica for MESS HALL MADNESS, this Sunday at 11AM at
She will guide us through preparing a three course breakfast of Peasant PB&J&B Pan-crepes, Catapult Breakfast Casserole, and Master of Granola for dessert. Ingredient and equipment list in the comments! Even if you’re not one for cooking, pop a tart in the toaster and listen to her chat about pinball life while she gets breakfast together.

There will be a one hour break for womxn/NB players to put finishing touches on their meals and set their campsite tables for our sit-down with Babes, Belles, and beyond in my Zoom camp, where Jessica will be welcoming everyone with me and helping guide the conversation so we can all get to know each other a little better! Before we talk brunch any more, let’s talk to her about her pinball world, in her own words:

“Jessica started her pinball journey mostly by accident, after grabbing a drink with a friend and finding herself distracted by a Monster Bash tucked into the corner of a wee neighborhood bar. Since that fateful day, she's played on several teams & leagues in Chicago, co-founded Belles & Chimes Madison, and finds herself back in the Land of Lincoln as a member of Belles & Chimes Chicago. She also started a potluck community league, Pinbrunch, where guests bring a delicious dish and play various hosts' home collections.

As a child, Jessica and her sister hosted a fake cooking show from their parent's kitchen. As an adult, she hosts a fake cooking show from her own kitchen, Enter Your ingredient. She focuses on creating dishes which revolve around a singular pinball machine theme, and is always up for a theme or ingredient challenge. Follow her culinary journey at”

Campsite Location: Just outside of Chicago, IL

When did you start playing pinball? 2013/2014ish. I grabbed a beer after work with a pal at a bar that had pins (Monster Bash & AC/DC at the time) and was hooked after that.

What are your top three games?
Ooh this is tough. Orbitor 1, AFM, Centaur.

Outside of pinball, what are your favorite hobbies?
Cooking, baking, gardening, drinking lots of coffee.

Any pinball superstitions or competition rituals?
I always need to make sure I have lip balm, chewing gum, and my headphones in case I need to refocus with some tunes.

Who is a role model to you, pinball or otherwise?
Joe Strummer

What pinball event (local, regional, or national) are you most excited to see the return of?
Gosh. I'll stick with regionally since I think most of us are really missing Pinburgh right now. I enjoy Expo here in Illinois and am willing to wait til 2021 if necessary (and safe to do so). MGC (Midwest Gaming Classic) is a favorite of mine as well.

See you in the Mess Hall, Jessica! Can’t wait to cook with you! 🍳🤟
